OFFICIAL RULES – HOW TO ENTER


Greetings Westown Condo & Townhome Neighbors!

LAST DAY TO ENTER – THURSDAY, DECEMBER 17th! (EXTENDED)

We invite you to join us in our first annual Holiday Lights & Decorating contest. A fun way to spread holiday cheer and bring our community together! Below are the guidelines on how to participate. This contest is open to Condos and Townhome residents.

Please remember to submit your photos on time so everyone can see your decorations! Have fun! We can’t wait to see our neighborhood shining bright!

HOW TO ENTER

ELIGIBILITY

All residents, homeowners or tenants, of WesTown are eligible to enter the contest. Only one entry per townhouse or condo unit. Homeowners and residents must be in good standing with the Metro District and WesTown Condo Homeowners Association to be eligible to place in the contest.

DECORATIONS

This contest is for exterior displays, decorations located or visible from outside of townhomes or the patio/balcony of condos. (Residents should take care not to damage siding, brick/mortar, balcony flooring, fencing and or rails.) Per MetroDistrict guidelines holiday decoration may be put up 30 days in advance of a holiday and must be removed 2 weeks after the holiday.

CRITERIA

Displays should be judged on creative use of lights, decoration placement, storyline and/or theme, and overall presentation. Winners will be determined by vote of WesTown homeowners/residents. One vote per townhome or condo unit. In the case of a tie the final decision is at the discretion of the contest facilitators.

ENTRY

  • Residents or homeowner should email entry to natalia@nataliablackie.com 
    • Please include name, street address, condos must include unit number
  • Entry should include a picture of the holiday display
    • Two photos are allowed but not required
      • One picture in daylight and or one after sunset
  • Entry with pictures must be received no later than Sunday, Dec. 13th, 2020. Thursday, December 17th, 2020.

Entries will be posted to Westown’s Facebook page and on the Nextdoor App and on this page. Check back in a few days to see incoming entries.

RECOGNITION

Three townhouses and three condos will be recognized. One each in the 3 different categories.

  • Griswold’s Wow! Factor Award (Abundance of decorations and lights)
  • Charlie Brown Prize (Minimalist decorating)
  • WesTown Winner (Traditionally elegant)
